Bilbao’s history from 1910

Imagine. We are in Bilbao. It’s 1910. Wooden trolley cars and horse carriages along the roads. Keep on walking. You are now in front of the Arriaga Theatre. Just opposite the street is a new bar called El Tilo.

More than a hundred years afterwards it is still there. El Tilo de Mami Lou is its new name

A century ago, actors and artist used to go to El Tilo everyday.

The painter Juan de Aranoa was one of them.

He drew the paintings you can see today in our walls: three day to day life scenes of Bilbao at the beginning of de XX. Century.

See you in the heart of Bilbao
